“LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Some local restaurants are teaming up with the Well of Lexington for a week-long fundraising event, ‘Feast for Freedom.

When you visit one of the participating restaurants, a portion of the proceeds will go to the Well of Lexington, which supports human trafficking victims.

‘We realized that a lot of our local restaurants are hurting from COVID and we just wanted to do something that was a win-win and mutually beneficial,” the Well of Lexington executive director, Eileen Levy, said. “Get people out and about and excited.’

Levy said the money donated to the Well will help keep their safe house for trafficking victims up and running.

‘Just to be able to do something to give back to those people who have been affected by it is something that’s important to me,’ the owner of East End Tap and Table, a participating restaurant, Betsy Borland, said.

There’s also an incentive for customers. Anyone who visits three or more restaurants during the fundraiser week can enter to win $650 in gift cards for local restaurants. All you have to do is order one of the specific meals listed below, take a picture of it, and use the #feastforfreedomky.

You can enter to win by tagging The Well of Lexington in 3 or more photos of your meals on Facebook or Instagram by Jan. 31. The Well asks that you also message them about your entries so they can keep track.

A winner will be announced on Feb. 1.

‘Come out, throw on a coat, get a to-go order if you want to eat from home,’ Levy said. “Thank you in advance for supporting us.’

‘Feast for Freedom’ will run from Jan. 23 through Jan. 30.”
